Problems loading image from phone

Just decided to call this one done. Well, I tried several times to upload the image and every time I get the same message. The file is too big. I have followed Brian’s instructions and am unable to complete this post. Has anyone else been unable to post a picture from the photo library in their I phone?
 
I haven’t met this problem, I thought the system would reduce file size automatically.
Do you have any software to edit a painting, as on a desktop? If you have, and can reduce size and resolution, that would reduce file size.

Thanks for replying Maureen, No I'm not aware of any software on my phone to alter the image size. I did go through the steps Brian posted on Saturday and everything worked, after I clicked on the button to select an image from the photo library it appeared in the post and when I hit the post thread the message was that the file was too large. I then when through the posting procedure again and clicked on the button to select an image and chose take a picture and my phone went to camera but the screen was black, there was the button to take a photo but pressing it didn't do anything, so now I am in limbo again trying to use my I phone to post pictures.
 
I’ve just been checking the size of some photos on my phone, info says around 3.5mb and they load ok.
Will you try sending me the image via the message system here, we’ll see if it leads that way.
 
Tom, you're probably hitting one of the 3 dimension limits in terms of image size:

To be able to be posted, an image file must be smaller than 10 MB and neither the width nor the height can be greater than 1000 px.
 
Brian, I have asked Tom to email me the image to see if I can find info about irs size etc. Awaiting the image.
 
Maureen, I emailed Tom and asked him to email me the image so I can figure out where the problem is. 🤣

Well, at least the customer service department is earning their pay today. 🤣🤣🤣

Brian, i just e-mailed Maureen the image and actually when I sent the e-mail it said the image size was 3.2 mb. I'll e-mail you the image also if you give me your e-mail address.

The other thing I wondered was the file extension.
Brian, does this site limit us to JPEG’s?
